Strategic Growth Specialist and Project Manager

Richard Smith began working in information and referral in 2010 in the aging and disability field, working as both a resource specialist and database curator for 12 years. He currently serves as Strategic Growth Specialist and Project Manager for DGI Associates.

During his time in aging and disability services, Richard served on Guilford County, North Carolina’s Fall Prevention Committee, edited the Senior Friendly Guilford blog and sat on the board of the North Carolina Alliance of Information and Referral Systems. He is perhaps most known for his presentation, “Becoming and I&R Wizard: Identifying and Empowering Problem Callers” which he has presented at the 2017 AIRS Conference in Tampa Bay and the 2018 American Society on Aging Conference.

Prior to his work for DGI, Richard served as Director of Operations for Inform USA, where he helped members with navigating the learning management system, provided support for the Inform Networker and assisted in moving Inform USA to a new CRM.

Richard holds the Inform USA CRS, CRS-AD and CRS-DC certifications as well as the Coaching Certification.
